NAWE Conference 2008

Chancellors Hotel and Conference Centre, Manchester, 14-16 November

For this conference in the North-West, and with 2008 being Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture, we were delighted to welcome two writers from Merseyside as our special guests: Willy Russell and Frank Cottrell Boyce.

Articles relating to the conference appeared in Writing in Education No. 47, including pieces by Clare Crossman and Gillian McClure on the Pulling Power of Poetry, Sherry Ashworth on the Old Silk Road, Joan Michelson on Poetry and News, Liz Cashdan on the Workshop, and Simon Sweeney on York St John's 'EEL Pie' project.

Patricia Ann McNair & Philip Hartigan's session on incorporating drawing in writing classes was included in the Word & Image edition (No. 48).
