Writing for children

The Writing for Children course is for students who would like to write books for children and/or young adults. The reading age covered is roughly 4-16. The formats you will study in this Writing for Children course include picture books, easy readers and novels. You will examine techniques used in key texts and then begin to develop your own original stories.

A Short Courses open evening is to be held on the 20th September 2012 from 17:30 - 20:00 at the Oliver Thompson Lecture Theatre Foyer, Northampton Square, London EC1V 0HB, United Kingdom. The event is open to: Public; Staff; Students; Alumni.
Modules
Students will learn: to understand the techniques involved in writing fiction for children and young adults, to assess a piece of published fiction for children or young adults, to understand and apply the principles of editing and revising, to prepare for the first steps towards publication.
