Writing in Practice

The Journal of Creative Writing Research

ISSN 2058-5535

NAWE's new Journal of Creative Writing Research, Writing in Practice, is a peer-reviewed journal that aims to explore the nature of the art of writing, highlighting current academic thinking and practice, and reflecting on this with an international outlook.

The journal will encourage the investigation of a broad range of possible approaches to Creative Writing, focusing in particular on critical discussion of creative processes, and critical examination of the history and pedagogy of Creative Writing in all contexts. It also aims to encourage research in the field of Creative Writing, including practice-based and practice-led research. Creative Writing itself is welcomed when integral to an article.

Volume 9 is now published (November 2023).

The Editorial Board is drawn from the NAWE Higher Education Committee. A Principal Editor works on each edition with three guest editors from the Board. The current Principal Editors are Kate North and Francis Gilbert. Lisa Koning is involved as General Editor of NAWE Publications.

Writing in Practice is an open access, online, scholarly journal that complements Writing in Education, the NAWE magazine distributed to its members.

As the UK Subject Association for Creative Writing, NAWE aims to further knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of Creative Writing and to support good practice in its teaching and learning at all levels.
