Liv Torc
Liv Torc is world shaping, creativity championing, poet, performer and producer. A Radio 4 Slam winner, a former Bard of Exeter and host of The Hip Yak Poetry Shack, Liv runs the poetry stage at WOMAD, Banana Poems and the lockdown haiku and photography project, Haiflu - as featured on the BBC’s Radio 4 Today Programme.
In 2019 her climate change in the face of motherhood poem The Human Emergency went viral across the world. In recent years she has performed at BBC R4 Poetry Please, Glastonbury Festival, TEDxLondonWomen, the House of Commons, NBC Universal, the Barbican, UNESCO in Paris and at the Southbank Centre. She has supported both Roger McGough and Hollie McNish.
Most significantly, Liv is the Co-Director of Hot Poets, the international award-winning climate science and poetry project working in partnership with the UNFCCC. Hot Poets has taken Liv to COP26, COP27 and COP28, performing for the United Nations and the Met Office. Liv has since become a UN consultant, facilitating creative climate spaces all over the world.
Her published books include Show Me Life (2015) and The Human Emergency (2021).
