I’m a published author and playwright with a strong track record of writing and producing performance pieces across the UK and Ireland.

I’m also an award winning creative producer with extensive experience of supporting writers in workshops, one-to-one mentoring and through large scale arts projects.

I am currently developing more work in my preferred area of specialty which is using writing for therapeutic purposes.

I'm happy to work with all ages and abilities, and to tailor workshops or events to suit individual requirements.

My Experience includes:

Running Creative Writing sessions with people suffering homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, and mental health issues for Gloucestershire Adult Education Services, The Recovery College, Turning Point, Quilter House and Artshape in Gloucestershire.

Self-generated projects include running a women only writing group Word Maidens, and being the Creative Producer on two largescale, ACE funded theatre projects with Gloucester Scriptorium which gained me the Writer’s Guild award for Theatre Encouragement.

Online projects include women's writing group zoom sessions, and working with young writers from Cardiff Gang Show to create pieces that were recorded on zoom during lockdown.

Advocacy work against ageism in the arts with Sheffield University on their Creative Lives report, and running a campaign ‘Written Off Women’ supporting older women writers.

I am always happy to discuss running workshops or delivering creative projects for individuals or clients.

As Cardiff Gang Show were unable to put on a in person production last year we reached out to Jarek to host a number of writing workshops with our young people. She created and ran a brilliant project that catered perfectly to our requirements. With a wide age range (9-18) of participants, Jarek was able to keep the group engaged and thoroughly enjoying themselves while creating a wonderful collection of plays that were later staged on Zoom. The writing workshops were an essential part of our Gang Show offering in 2020 and we loved working with Jarek and would love to have her involved when we do something similar in person in the future.
