The National Association of Writers in Education (NAWE) is delighted to announce the appointment of Bea Colley as its first Participation Producer. Bea will be working with us on a freelance basis, designing a programme of professional development opportunities for creative writing educators across the UK.
Bea Colley is a freelance Literature Programmer and Producer. She has worked in the literature sector for over 15 years, supporting writers in their careers and programming and producing literature and poetry festivals. She worked at Southbank Centre in London for 10 years where she set up numerous projects alongside underrepresented writers and also worked at the Poetry Society and the Reader Organisation. She has strong connections with many of the UK's literature development agencies and was Co-Chair of New Writing South until 2020.
‘We’re delighted to appoint Bea Colley as NAWE’s first Participation Producer. Bea brings a wealth of experience from across the sector, and we’re looking forward to working with her to remove barriers and improve access to quality creative writing education for writers from all backgrounds. The work she does will develop our existing programmes and help us reach new audiences, taking us in new and exciting directions as we emerge from a post-pandemic world.’
Seraphima Kennedy, Director, NAWE
