We are delighted to announce that we have an exciting array of special events and guests lined up for our first ever virtual conference, WHAT NEXT? Writing in Education and Communities in 2021 and Beyond, taking place via Zoom on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 March.
Conference highlights include:
• UK Arts Councils Literature Panel discussing the landscape, challenges and opportunities facing our sector
• UK Poetry Library Network in Conversation: Poetry's not for you - Poetry's for everyone
• Early morning Write & Shine workshop with Gemma Seltzer
• Funding for writers workshop with Jonathan Davidson
• Open mic hosted by Yvonne Battle-Felton
To launch our first virtual conference on Friday morning, we’re delighted to welcome Daljit Nagra, poet and chair of the Royal Society of Literature.
We’ll also welcome Richard Russell, Chief Operating Officer of Arts Council England, and NAWE’s chair Jonathan Davidson to consider where we are and what next for our sector.
We're very excited as well that Kate Clanchy will be joining us as our evening guest speaker on Friday 12th and Kit de Waal on Saturday 13th, with Romalyn Ante joining us on the Saturday afternoon to talk about creative writing and healthcare.
In addition, we have a packed programme of workshops, panels and talks across the themes of digital pedagogy, wellbeing and practice research for delegates to choose from, offering an opportunity to connect with fellow writers working in education and community settings around the UK and internationally. The full programme will be available w/c 8 February.
