Year Long Paid Internship, Poetry Translation Centre
Deadline: Fri 11 Sep 2020
The Poetry Translation Centre has sixteen years’ experience translating the work of extraordinary poets from Asia, Africa and Latin America and introducing their poems to new audiences in print, in person and online.
Our small team, of five part-time staff, foster long-term relationships with inspirational poets and translators in the UK and abroad. We run an ongoing programme of translation workshops and two national tours each year, publish a range of dual-language poetry books and maintain a lively online profile, including a website, YouTube channel, podcast and social media.
This year the internship will be tied to the first-ever international Sarah Maguire Prize for Poetry in Translation, with the intern working closely with all members of the team to deliver a high profile awards ceremony and launch the second prize in 2021.
This year the PTC is committed to hiring a candidate from a BAME background.
The successful candidate will work across the whole organisation, gaining valuable experience and learning key skills.
