In 2013 a bold new project will be bringing Bodmin Moor to life like never before and you could be part of it
Audiotor is an immersive listening experience set in Cornwall’s landscape. Six chapters of powerful writing will create a cohesive, compelling story, which walkers can listen to via an Audiotor App on smart phones as they stride across the moor. GPS signals will trigger each chapter of the story as they walk, unleashing the voices of renowned actors, original music by award-winning composer Graham Fitkin and of course the very best words.
Which is where you could come in. Audiotor is looking for talented writers to join the team and help capture and write the stories that will shape this unique experience. If you’re selected, you’ll be given the chance to attend two writers’ workshops, interview the community and write your story, in consultation with the directorial team and fellow writers. The work will take place between 26 November 2012 and 1 March 2013, with the final audio experience launching in June 2013. There is no payment for writers, but Audiotor can offer an expenses budget.
Audiotor is an innovative project that has been awarded funding from Arts Council England through their Grants for the Arts programme. It is the work of Creative Producer Michael White in collaboration with Caradon Hill Area Heritage Project, Hall for Cornwall, Stranger Collective, The Works and University College Falmouth.
Send an email to Michael White at info@audiotor.co.uk to express your interest in being involved and find out more about how the project will work. You will be asked to send a sample of your creative writing which focuses on people and place (prose, short stories or novel extracts of up to 1000 words) by 9 November 2012.
