The Comedy Women In Print (CWIP) prize is an exciting new literary award created by Helen Lederer to bring female comedy writing the exposure and recognition it deserves. Prize categories for comedy fiction by unpublished female writers and by published female writers.
From burgeoning new talent to established writers – CWIP has no barriers and will shine a spotlight on that valuable and hilarious group: Witty Women.
Comedy Fiction By Unpublished Female Writers
Prize for the Unpublished Category Winner will be publishing contract for their novel. HarperFiction will offer the winning aspiring, comic female novelist a publishing contract and £5,000 advance. The runner up will be awarded a free place on the University of Hertfordshire’s MA in Creative Writing.

Comedy Fiction By Published Female Writers
Works submitted must be Published Comedy Novels, of at least 50,000 words, written in English and published in the UK within the 26 months prior to the closing date.
Prize for the Published Category Winner is a cash prize of £2,000.
The competition is open to female authors, writing in the English language, of any nationality over the age of 18 on the closing date.
