The aim of the post is to provide leadership, guidance and quality assurance to the Short Courses programme
This is especially in relation to the student experience within evening and weekend classes, summer schools, professional development, special learning events, research/KE projects and productions and the development of a large staff team in relation to this broad range of delivery. The subject areas comprise dance, drama, music, production, screen, teaching skills, health and well-being.
The post holder will liaise closely with the Short Courses administration team to ensure that the student learning experience is cohesive, the tutoring programme is robust and the production programme is achievable and well managed within the Royal Conservatoire and beyond.
The successful candidate will have an appropriate professional or craft qualification as well as relevant industry experience. Knowledge of contemporary professional practice and of the professional production process is essential. Knowledge of the specialist subject areas and of health and safety practices, child protection and quality assurance procedures will be an advantage.
It is essential that you work well with children and young people as well as adult learners and emerging theatre professionals. The work pattern is Thursday through to Monday each week and evening and weekend work is a pre-requisite of the post.
