Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing, University of Bristol

The University of Bristol seeks to appoint a part-time Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing as soon as possible. This post offers an exciting opportunity for an established fiction writer to develop the University’s expanding provision in Creative Writing, within a Department of English with an outstanding international reputation.

The Department enjoys extensive demand from talented applicants for admission to its undergraduate programmes, and is home to a thriving postgraduate community.

The postholder will contribute to the teaching, administration and development of Creative Writing programmes and units at all levels, particularly the supervision of PhD and MPhil students. They will also develop, promote and teach a suite of Creative Writing short courses in community and university settings.

The successful candidate will have an established reputation in fiction writing and show potential to maintain and enhance this reputation. They will have a firm understanding of current developments in the field and of emerging pedagogies and approaches to it as a discipline.

Salary: £52,560 to £59,135 pro rata per annum Hours: Part Time Contract Type: Permanent (Job Ref: ACAD105024)
