Scottish Arts Trust: The Write Mango Short Story Award
Deadline: Tue 28 Feb 2023
NEW! A prize for short stories that are fun, amusing, bizarre, and as delicious as a mango…

We all love those quirky short stories that leave us laughing out loud or simply bemused. To celebrate these wonderful tales, and the special skills of the writers who create them, we are offering the Write Mango Award to be given to the top ‘mango’ story entered in the 2023 Scottish Arts Club Short Story Competition.

The winner will get £300, a trophy, and an invite to the Story Awards Dinner on Saturday 30 September 2023 at the Scottish Arts Club in Edinburgh. Authors of the top five stories nominated for the Write Mango Award will be offered publication in our next anthology.

Open to writers worldwide, all ‘mango’ stories will also be in the running for the £3,000 first prize in the international competition. ‘Mango’ stories by unpublished writers living in Scotland will also be considered for the Isobel Lodge Award of £750.

The entry fee is £10 per story and writers may enter as many stories as they wish. Free entry is offered to anyone living in Scotland in a household that receives any form of income support or universal credit.
