River City is taking applications from Tuesday 5th September for this year’s writers' Shadow Scheme which will run this Autumn. The deadline for applications is Friday 15th September 2017 at Midday.
River City requires writers who can tell a sustaining and gripping story for 60 minutes. We want to hear from writers who know the show, are passionate about it and can demonstrate that they can deliver a 60 minute script.
River City is guaranteeing a commission to 2 writers. We’ll be shortlisting 8 writers to interview. We’ll then select 4 writers. These 4 writers will be invited to attend a training residential in Glasgow and following this, after the completion of a shadow script, 2 are guaranteed an episode commission within a year.
Deadline: Friday 15th September at 12 noon.
Full details of how to apply, including completing the A Story Exercise which must be submitted with your application, are available on the BBC writersroom website.
