The Writers’ Conference gives the East Midlands’ writing community access to leading professionals from the industry. The event brings established and emerging writers together, providing an invaluable opportunity for them to make new contacts, learn more about advancing their careers and aspirations, and have their work assessed by literary agents and publishers. Due to COVID-19 the 2021 conference will be run entirely online for the first time.

WEM is looking for a confident communicator and organiser with the project management skills to pull together, lead, and evaluate a programme of events spread over 4 days from 8-11th April 2021 in partnership with The University of Lincoln. These will include panel discussions, debates, and workshops covering a range of writing disciplines and genres, exploring topics and trends in the sector, and contextualising these in the current social and political climate.

Much of the work has been undertaken but we will need the position to run from 11 January 2021 to 16 April 2021 and is expected to require c30 working days weighted towards and during the delivery period. A flat fee is available of £3500 on freelance terms.
