This new post will suit an experienced educationalist with a passion for Shakespeare and commitment to arts education.
Shakespeare’s Globe is a unique international resource dedicated to the exploration of Shakespeare's work and the playhouses for which he wrote, through the connected means of performance and education. Together, the Globe Theatre, Globe Exhibition & Tour and Globe Education seek to further the experience and international understanding of the dramatic arts in all its forms, but principally in relation to Shakespeare in performance.
You will have previous leadership experience within an educational setting and be able to evidence goal-setting and performance management with responsibility for leading a large team of specialists at all levels.
You will develop your team through formal and informal learning opportunities, show empathy and a great level of emotional intelligence. You should also have extensive experience in either primary or secondary teaching and a keen understanding of the relevant curricula in both. Moreover, an extensive working knowledge of procedures for safe guarding children and vulnerable adults and an ability to build excellent cross-organisational relationships will be essential.
