Spark Young Writers Groups are creative writing workshops for children. Sessions are fun, creative and interactive, focusing on showing children a wide variety of writing styles and giving them plenty of opportunity to experiment, create and enjoy writing.

The ten sessions last for two hours and will take place on a Saturday morning at Oswestry library, once a month between September 2024 and June 2025.

We run a training session for lead writers as well as provide support at the sessions from a volunteer assistant writer. The participant administration is done by Writing West Midlands, leaving you free to plan and lead the sessions (we actively encourage a no-homework, no-marking policy).

We offer ‘Lead Writers’ a Fee: £110 per session, plus travel expenses.
