Responsible for setting up and running the administration and systems for an exciting new project, this post will play a critical role in supporting the National Poetry Centre as we launch our campaign to create a multi-million pound national centre for poetry, based in Leeds.
You will be working with a small but growing team in a busy start-up charitable office, which is currently not yet operational and will require your help to set up. We have a project director supported by an actively involved chair and a small board of trustees - and you will also liaise regularly with the Poet Laureate Simon Armitage as well as funding bodies, senior figures, poets, community groups and educational/non-profit organisations.
We will shortly be recruiting a project manager to help progress the capital project and in 2024 a creative engagement officer will follow, to help develop a programme of events and activities in a range of different spaces. Marketing support will also be available.
This post will provide administrative support for the Project Director and Chair and will in summary include data and website management, help with funding bids, coordination of activities and liaison with the parties mentioned above.
The post holder will work between 3 and 4 days per week with an initial contract until 31st March 2024 (with extension subject to funding). It will be home working initially and then based at a Leeds office once operational, with flexible arrangements by agreement.
