Writers’ Cabin at Write Within – Stylish Writer’s Retreat with Sauna in mid Wales

Connect with nature and your work-in-progress on a self-led writer’s retreat at the Writers’ Cabin, situated just three miles outside Machynlleth, mid Wales. The Writers’ Cabin, which was picked by The Sunday Times in 2024 as one of the top 7 UK writer’s retreats, sleeps up to two people with a separate shower room and large sauna. Self-catered stays last either 3, 4 or 7 days and include a complimentary sauna session and a bottle of Poetry Pharmacy pills.
Settle yourself at the oak writing desk with nothing but the view for company and dive into your manuscript overlooking the Tarren mountain range, a stone’s throw from Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. This peaceful sanctuary was designed specifically for writers to enjoy space and quiet for their creative practice, and it includes one double bed with one single pull-out sofa also available. Surrounding the Cabin there’s a private garden, sunset terrace and sizeable veranda. The Cabin is equipped with satellite WIFI, a heritage writing desk and comfortable office chair as well as a well-appointed kitchenette (no oven).
If you need an accountability partner or a morale boost by way of a one-to-one coaching session during your weekday retreats, you can book a 90-minute session with experienced author coach Julia Forster who has worked in publishing for over 25 years.
