Our NAWE Members Meet-Up on Wednesday 12 March 2025 will be a chance to share updates on our practice and to find out what other NAWE Members are up to. We'll be focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) in the second half of the session.
While we cover all aspects of creative writing work in our Meet-Ups, the last 30 minutes of each focuses on a specific area. This month we'll be discussing AI. What does artificial intelligence mean for you both as a creative writer and as a teacher/facilitator of creative writing? How is it affecting your freelance work and/or work in academia? We'd love to hear your experiences of AI and your thoughts on the key issues as well as your views on how best NAWE can support you.
The session will be hosted by NAWE Co-Chair Jonathan Davidson with brief opening views invited from a freelance writer and an academic.
Date: Wednesday 12 March 2025, 18:00 – 19:00 GMT
Location: Online via Zoom
Cost: Free but booking is essential as capacity is limited.
Registration via Eventbrite will open shortly.
In the meantime, you might like to look at The Society of Authors' set of very useful updates on AI or take part in their AI survey: Working with, not for, artificial intelligence - deadline 9 February 2025. You don't need to be a member of the SoA to respond to this survey.
Dates for future NAWE Member Meet-Ups: If you can't come along in March, we'll be holding further online Meet-Ups during 2025 on 11 June and 10 September.
