'Moorland Life: heather and big skies' - Poetry writing walk with Simon Fletcher

Simon Fletcher will be leading a poetry writing walk on Saturday 3 August 2024, 10.30-1pm, from the car park at the Bog Visitor Centre, Stiperstones up to the Cranberry Rocks. The theme for the walk will be ‘moorland life: heather and big skies’. Expect to see ravens and kites, stonechats, heather, bilberries and rare moths and butterflies.

Please wear sensible clothing as the terrain is rugged.

The Bog Visitor Centre has a wonderful cafe. Parking fee is by donation.

Simon Fletcher lives in Shropshire and has performed his poetry across Britain and in Pakistan & Norway. He’s also read his poetry on BBC Radio Shropshire and the Asian network. He runs poetry writing workshops in green spaces/ places. His most recent pamphlet, Wild Orchids, 2023, contains work ‘commended’ in the Michael Marks Environmental Poet of the Year Awards, 2022. This year he was nominated for the Forward Prize (best single poem category).
