Manchester Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University is holding its first showcase of work by alumni on 30 January 2025, 6-8pm, at Manchester Poetry Library and online.
This is an opportunity for past and present students to come together to celebrate some of our fantastic alumni. As well as a series of readings, we will also have a chance for a Q & A to find out a little about their very different journeys towards publication and what they are up to now.
This event will feature Dr Betty Doyle, reading from her recently published pamphlet Fruits of Labour (Seren, 2024). Dr Rachel Davies and Hilary Robinson will be reading from their joint poetry collection An altogether different place (Beautiful Dragons Squared, 2024). We will also hear from Rachel Carney, reading from her debut poetry collection Octopus Mind (Seren, 2023), Simon Costello, reading from his pamphlet Saturn Devouring (The Lifeboat Press, 2024) and Deborah Harvey, reading from her latest collection Love the Albatross (2024).
Date: Thursday 30 January 2025, 18:00-20:00
