LGBTQ+ Writing Space
Thu 9 Jan 2025 to Thu 5 Jun 2025
The Centre for Arts and Wellbeing at the University of Brighton are partnering with New Writing South to run writing and wellbeing workshops for members of the LGBTQ+ community and our allies. Workshops will be run by local writer Lou Tondeur.

Set aside time for your writing in an inspirational location on Brighton Beach, offering panoramic views of the sea. This creative escape includes a complimentary hot drink from the nearby cafe.

The practical writing workshops, which are booked separately, will be made up of writing activities like journaling, freewriting, mindful observation and sensory writing, so bring pen and paper. There will be no obligation to join in with the activities or to share what you’ve written – you can simply use the space to write.

We’re developing a free writing and wellbeing toolkit for use by community groups for which we’re seeking (optional) contributions from community members. All participants will be invited to a launch of the Writing and Wellbeing Toolkit.

Dates: January-June 2025. Starts Thursday 9th January then first Thursday of the month, 6pm-8pm
Location: Brighton
Cost: £10 per session, booked separately. Includes a hot drink. Booking essential.. Bursaries are available.
