We'll help you to dig deep to find what your story’s really about, raise the stakes and test your characters, in the process making you a more confident writer. Never give them (the audience / the funders) what they want – give them what they didn’t know they were looking for.

Tutors
Colin McLaren is the BAFTA winning screenwriter of The Legend of Barney Thomson, directed by Robert Carlyle, starring Carlyle & Emma Thompson. Colin also runs a screenwriting course for NFTS Scotland and lectures at Screen Academy Scotland.

Jan Pearson is a seasoned script analyst trained in screenwriting and development. She has worked closely with writers, directors and producers at all levels of the industry for over 20 years, most recently on the Oscar-nominated The United States vs. Billy Holiday and upcoming Tetris movie.

Guest: Robin Mukherjee has contributed extensively to television drama, both returning series and serials. He has also written for film, radio and theatre.
