To give something back to the wonderful novelists of our literary isles I have created the Spoon’s Carpets Novel Award, to be awarded to the novel which best fits a particular criteria, set out by my experiences of reading novels in pubs.
The author prize is £100 cash, in £1 and £2 coins that they can put in the fruity or quizzer, plus an excellent trophy.
The person who nominates the winning book and gives the most convincing reasons why it should win receives a £100 Wetherspoon Gift Card (this means free booze), plus 5 Square Peg books chosen at random and a night out with me, Kit Caless, author of Spoon’s Carpets: An Appreciation. You will also be given some free novels of my choosing.
The award will be announced on the 15th December, just in time for Christmas.
To nominate your favourite novel to read in a pub, please fill in the form at the bottom of this page and argue as best you can why the book you’ve nominated deserves to win.
