Playwrights' Studio, Scotland: Playwright Supports 2025

Applications are now open for our Playwright Supports 2025 including our Playwright Mentoring Programme, Disabled Playwright Support Programme, and Self-Led Projects.
Playwright Mentoring Programme: An eight-month programme offering one-to-one mentoring, paid contact time, and opportunities to expand your creative network.
Disabled Playwright Support Programme: Delivered in partnership with Birds of Paradise Theatre Company. Two disabled playwrights will receive focused support to develop a new idea over the course of six months. The programme is designed for ideas that haven’t yet made it to first draft stage.
Self-Led Projects: Designed for professional playwrights to create their own projects, with up to £4,000 available per project. This can cover fees (for you and collaborators), physical costs (space hire, per diems, equipment), and includes in-kind support such as administrative help from Playwrights’ Studio.
In 2025, we plan to open applications for Play Development Bursaries and launch the second intake of our Gaelic Writers’ Group in partnership with Comhairle nan Leabhraichean.
