EACWP VII Pedagogical Conference: Call for papers- Deadline extended
Deadline: Mon 10 Feb 2025
This call for papers is open to European and worldwide creative writing teachers, translators and researchers. Contributors are invited to “show and tell” about their practices related to Writing in the real world, and to approach or question this theme from a pedagogical point of view. Deadline extended to 10 February.

Writing in the real world is a tremendous issue, as it raises a wide range of highly urgent, contemporary and engaging questions. What are the different pedagogical approaches and debates in this area? What role can we play, creatively speaking, in meeting the specific challenges of our time? How can we support and develop our student’s talents and productions in the context of multiple crises, overproduction, media monopolies, and the exponential development of generative artificial intelligence? Is it time to give writing a new purpose?

The conference will be structured in lectures, panel discussions, and workshops lasting:
20 minutes for lectures
60 minutes for panel discussions
90 minutes for workshops

Workshops proposing creative approaches linked in one way or another to Writing in the real world will be particularly welcome.

To enable a wider and more linguistically diverse exchange, in line with our mission to promote the literary creation in our beautiful mother tongues, we welcome proposals in English, French, Spanish and German, as well as multilingual workshops or talks.

A room will be set throughout the conference for workshops and panel discussions in French.

Proposals should consist of a brief (500 characters) outline, exactly as you would like the session to be described in the program, plus biographical information of all contributors (300 characters each).

The EACWP Conference is a biannual event devoted to foster European and Worldwide dialogue on the different approaches to creative writing education. The VII EACWP conference will take place in Paris, from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 May 2025, and will be hosted by Aleph-Écriture.
