NAWE Young Writer's Hub Mentorship
Deadline: Sat 31 Aug 2013
Are you a writer aged between 16 & 25? Would you benefit from the opportunity to develop your work with the NAWE Young Writer's Hub for six-months?

The National Association of Writers in Education (NAWE) is the one organization supporting the development of creative writing of all genres and in all educational and community settings throughout the UK.

The NAWE Young Writers' Hub is an information resource and writer development agency for 16-25 year olds. We are a point of contact, convene Arts Award courses, provide an enabling fund; publish Myths of the Near Future online magazine and ebook as well as promote events and workshops for young writers.

We are seeking two writers aged between 16 & 25 to take part in in our mentorship programme. The programme is not a formal qualification but the selected writers will:

• Have six-months feedback online and in person
• Have at least one one-to-one meeting
• Learn the basics of arts marketing and administration
• Work to develop their work and (or) a project for after the six-months
• Learn about the book industry and literary landscape
• Write a cover letter, synopsis or pitch
• Opportunities to blog, review and learn about ebooks

Wes Brown, the young writer's co-ordinator, is based in London. He is able to travel to meet young writers not in the area. He is a novelist, book reviewer, director of Dead Ink Books and chair of the Society of Young Publishers in the North.

To apply for the programme, please email up to 2000 words of prose, 20 pages of script or 10 pages of poetry with a cover letter explaining what you would like to achieve ideally and realistically in the short and long term as a writer.

Please send your applications addressed 'NAWE Mentorship' to Wes Brown at
