The University of Glamorgan Creative Industries Development Scheme (CiDS) is part of the Work Based Learning programme
The Creative Industries Development Scheme (CiDS) is part of the Work Based Learning programme funded by the Convergence European Social Fund, through the Welsh Government. Participants on courses must be working in the private sector, living and/ or working in the Convergence area of Wales. CiDS is an exciting new venture which will facilitate practitioners within the convergence areas of the Creative Industries to obtain some creative and business skills development, ultimately achieving a University of Glamorgan qualification. The course has the backing of Creative and Cultural Skills and aims to offer current industry practitioners a unique experience by tailoring a learning programme to allow them to advance their output and business, in addition to developing important new approaches which are relevant to the needs of many facets of the Creative Industries in Wales.
The initiative involves delivering a Work Based Learning (WBL) programme of professional development to employees/employers in the creative industry's sub-sectors of Design, Crafts, Performing Arts, Music and Technical Theatre across the convergence area in Wales. The project has a full-time course tutor who will deliver the generic part of the CPD programme and this will be supported by five 0.2 fte posts who will deliver the speciality subject strands.
The successful candidate(s) will have a first degree in the subject or related subject area of Social Media or is able to demonstrate significant expertise, output, knowledge and experience of working practices in the application of Social Media within the Creative Industries. Also, a recognised teaching qualification would be desirable.
