• Literary projects
• Performance events
• Readings
• Workshops
• Text-based artwork or multimedia
• Cross-arts events (music, film etc that recognize the festival’s focus on text/language)

We are looking for original and exciting ideas and welcome proposals from individuals, groups and organisations based in Hull or nationally. All special commissions are to take place during Humber Mouth 2011 (25th June – 10th July) in the city of Hull. We are looking for projects which offer something special to the Hull audience. Please note that while £1500 is our maximum grant, we value applications which represent value for money. In the past, many awards have ranged from £150 to £1000.

Your idea should meet one or more of the following criteria:

• It should have intrinsic literary or artistic value.
• It should fulfill a developmental or educational role.
• It should demonstrate the intention to increase participation in literature or other art forms within the local community.

Applications must be typed and must include:

• Your name, address, email and/or contact number.
• A title for the event/project/programme of work you are proposing, the name of the lead individual or organisation involved, plus proposed dates and venue if known.

• A description of the event, intended audience or participants. If your idea involves an educational/training element, please specify the intended learning outcomes for participants.

• A full budget (inc. all fees, hires, materials etc) and details of the amount you are applying for. Please note we cannot fund the purchase of capital items.

Application is by written proposal (there is no form) and you should make sure you send as much information as you can to help us make our choices. Attachments to support your application are welcome. Applications may be submitted by post to: Humber Mouth 2011, City Arts Unit, 4th Floor, Kingston House, Bond Street, Hull HU1 3ER or electronically to humbermouth@gmail.com

The deadline for receipt of proposals is Tuesday February 10th 2011
