A one-day workshop run by Anne Caldwell & Jonathan Davidson, with guest speaker Sarah Butler
A NAWE event in partnership with Writing West Midlands, supported by The Warwick Writers’ Programme, University of Warwick. 10.30am - 4.00pm.
Working as a writer in residence can be a wonderful opportunity for both emerging and established writers. How can writers work effectively across long periods of time? How can developing their own work be balanced with encouraging others to write? And how can writers help set up these projects?
Anne Caldwell, Programme Director of National Association of Writers in Education (NAWE), and Jonathan Davidson, Chief Executive of Writing West Midlands, will host this day workshop looking at the practicalities of being a writer in residence. They will be joined by Sarah Butler, a novelist and an experienced writer in residence (The Central Line, London Underground; Leeds – Liverpool Canal; Greenwich Peninsula), who will share her experiences of setting-up and running residencies. Sarah will also showcase a resource she has written on being a writer in residence, commissioned by NAWE.
Tickets £30 NAWE Members / £45 Non-Members (tea/coffee provided)
NB: Members need to log on to show the discounted price.
