Call for Workshop Proposals – Writers and Teachers Skills Sharing Symposium – Creative Writing
Deadline: Fri 8 May 2015
NAWE, First Story and The Poetry Society are running a Skills Sharing Day on Saturday 4th July, 2015 aimed at writers who work in schools (any age range) and teachers with an interest in creative writing or who teach the subject

This event is hosted by the University of Bolton, which runs a thriving creative writing programme, BA and MA.

We are looking for 12 writers and/or teachers to run workshops as part of this event, which will be a fantastic opportunity to bring educators together, to network with other writers and teachers and to share valuable knowledge and experience.

Details:
Venue: The University of Bolton, Deane Road, Bolton, BL3 5AB
Date: Saturday 4th July, 2015
Time: 10.30am – 4.15pm

Anyone running a workshop will get a free place (places otherwise charged at £45.)

We particularly welcome writers and teachers involved in delivering the creative writing ‘A’ level, and those working in secondary education.

Please send Anne Caldwell, Deputy Director, NAWE a.caldwell@nawe.co.uk the following:

200 words outlining your workshop proposal

150 words describing yourself and the work you do (and any publication track record)

The proposal needs to be for a practical, hands on workshop aimed at other writers and teachers, including exercises and ideas to try with young people themselves. Please outline the suitable age range or target group if appropriate, and the genre if applicable.

You can book a place for the event online or email Tom MacAndrew, Education Manager, Poetry Society and he will book your place TMacAndrew@poetrysociety.org.uk
